NUR 206A: Introduction to Nursing and Gerontology I This course emphasizes competence in nursing skills. Functional health patterns are used as the basis for assessment and nursing care of adult clients with emphasis on the aged. Communication, teaching, helping, problem solving, and leadership skills are introduced and applied as a framework for clinical practice. Prerequisite: One of the following: 1) Admission to the College of Nursing and NUR 207; or 2) none. Co-requisite: One of the following: 1) none; or 2) NUR 209.
