In this feature article, Mackey pointed out from his interview with Charles Sykes that there is an emerging subculture called “moocher culture.” The “moocher culture” is systemically affecting the culture of the United States. According to Sykes, the American society has changed from a culture that celebrates and encourages productive and hardworking people to a culture that is dominated by bonuses, bail-outs, freebies and privileges. However, it makes people wonder nowadays why they have to pay for the damages of the irresponsible. This article may be useful in building a general discussion about the economic situation of the United States. However, the credibility of this article to be cited in building the important arguments of a research paper may not be as credible as a journal article.

This article features the interview of David Greene with other students to find the reason behind the growing statistics of young Americans who are not connected to any religious group. This article also noted that one fifth of the total population of the United States are unaffiliated to any religion and those who are younger than 30 are drifting apart from an organized religious group. This article may be useful in writing a general background of the study related to the dynamics that occurs within a religious group. However, using this article to support evidences and claims in correlational studies may undermine the credibility of the research paper because of the lack of proper attribution.

In this article, it features the arguments of Lisa Gache who is one of the founders of Beverly Hills Manners. Gache argued that there is a gradual erosion of the courteous language in America. This vanishing kind of language may be attributed to the casual use of polite languages. Further, Gache also contended that the fondness of people towards everything that is casual in the society today has resulted to the vanishing language of courtesy that is not good for the society. This article may be useful in setting the tone of the background of the study. However, the credibility of this paper is undermined by the lack of scholarly data to support such claims.
