NUR 203: Introduction to Pharmacology

NUR 203: Introduction to Pharmacology Includes pharmacological principles of therapeutic agents used by Nurses, their classifications, and mechanisms of action. Information on the side effects of each group of drugs is provided. This course introduces the student to the principles and application of pharmacology within the context the nursing process. Indications for use, mechanism of action, effects, contraindications, and interactions for selected drugs and drug classes is explored. Emphasis is placed on the nursing role with respect to administration and monitoring of drug therapy.
